A Visitor Center provides exhibits on the geology, ecology, prehistory and history of the park and nearby region. The park also hosts an Annual Atlatl Competition in which participants test their skills with replicas of ancient spears. Open year round, the park has numerous campsites equipped with shaded tables, grills and water, as well as many intriguing trails to tempt hikers.
Site details and tent pad sizes can be viewed online by clicking on the site name. Many parks are open for overnight stays and facility reservations. New reservations will be accepted one day to 30 days in advance. Some sites and facilities are closed, including showers at some parks.

Additional vehicles or trailers must use the designated parking areas. Branched Oak SRA offers 41 picnic shelters, three of which are reservable. One reservable shelter has electricity and accommodates up to 60 people.
The park is open from sunrise to sunset unless camping in campgrounds or a group camping area. Drive only on approved routes of travel and park only in designated places along the roadside shoulders.
Enjoy all the other amenities the parks have to offer, including hiking, fishing, boating, and more. Our facilities include free Wi-Fi, electric and sewer hook-ups, pure drinking water, shaded sites and TV hook-ups.
Self-service envelopes are provided at each Iron Ranger station. Iron Rangers are generally located near the park entrance or in the campground area. On-site camping informational signs are provided to help guide campers with the self-registration process. The maximum occupancy of a campsite is one camping unit and one tent; two tents; and one vehicle that is used to tow or transport the camping unit or one vehicle that is towed by the camping unit.
The park also offers numerous picnic tables and grills. Before reserving, please become familiar with the particulars of your chosen site, including the size of the tent pad area and the type of equipment that you may bring to the park.

Our RV park and campground offers a beautiful location full of trees, showers, laundry facility, a play ground for kids, a pavilion for small and large gatherings and a dog park. We offer short and long term sites for RV vacationers, along with a selection of cabins for those traveling without a camper. A park entry permit is required and may be purchased at the park, statewide Game and Parks offices and permit vendors or in advance of your arrival online.
The equestrian camping area also provides 8 free sites to meet girls Equestrian Basic campsites for those that do not need the electricity. Visitors can camp with their horses at Homestead Campground equestrian area . This area offers 15 pull-through Equestrian Electric Plus campsites.
To make reservations for these 15 sites, please contact the park office. Other amenities include 14 corrals, hand-pump drinking water, primitive toilet, picnic tables and fire rings. Camping reservations are available for half of the campsites in Middle Oak Creek and South Shore campgrounds. All other camping is all first-come, first-served and campers register their nightly camping fees in a raised, locked box called an Iron Ranger.
